  1. It’s not a common occurrence that we find ourselves in a relationship that requires nothing more than our imperfect presence. Imagine, if you can, a love that requires only the simple sound of your key turning in the door at the end of the day. Try to envision, if your heart can dream so big, of another in this world who sees you constantly flawless, endlessly wise, infinitely faultless. Picture, if you can, a faithful friend whose love for you knows no limit. I am here to report that I have seen such a love. She looks like rusty orange curls wet from a romp on the banks of the Mississippi and speaks fluent lubba-doo-doo. She runs like the wind and stinks to high heaven of road kill du’jour. She is a connoisseur of rose bushes, morning glories, tennis shoes, and trash. And much like the truest love most often does, this one came as a tiny sweet surprise that swiftly made itself so familiar that days before it were impossible to recall. This rare and unconditional love that is loyal-wild and maddening- precious, full of indomitable spirit, and the keeper of joyfulness, devotion, and faith is Sam…Sam-A-Lamma-Ding-Dong, Sa-man-THAAAAAAAA, Dammit Sam!!! Her name is Samantha, quick like a pantha’, tall and sassy, smarter than Lassie! She is love and light and joy, maybe not to the world, but to one singular dedicated heart whose life she has enriched and whose bright spirit she has completed…and she is loved, as she loves, without condition and without end, by the title-holder of the only word she ever spoke:” Mama”.
If you have seen her, please let us know. If you see her, chasing is an act of the highest futility but she may very well come to you should you have an ice cream bowl to lick or a treat to offer. If she is, by chance, with you, no doubt you already know what a beautiful character Sam is; I wouldn't blame you for wanting to keep her...but there is someone in the world who loves her dearly and misses her terribly whose heart is not the same without her. Please help find Sam.
